Ah yes, I've been a victim of Sonya's repeated leg throws, but not
for long. The secret is that so many people get freaked out by the first
leg throw that they just hold down the block. What happens is that, by
holding down block, you are not allowing it to reset, therefore when you got
thrown over, your finger is on the block button but you are not blocking at
all - you need to let go of the block and hold it down again to "reset" the
block mode. Otherwise you'd get you with her tight leglock again ("AH!!!")
and keep throwing you over in a vicious cycle.
That anti-freeze strategy sounds interesting, I've never seen it done
but I'll try it next time. Does this work against computer or a human
opponent?
Johnny Cage has been one of my faves for a while, I think the fact
that you can do a shadow-kick real fast as a retaliation (unlike, say,
SubZero's lame slide or Raiden's charge, which can be easily blocked) has made
him real popular among MKers, not to mention his patented "nutcracker" :)
Somebody asked what Mortal Kombat is... boy you must be staying home
an awful lot. Go down to your local arcade, you can usually find Mortal
Kombat next to the Street Fighter II machines. They are porting it to the
SNES and Sega systems, but the release date has been postponed again and
again. Apparently the "violent" (I'd say graphical) nature of the game has
the industry worried, and we don't know how faithful a port it will be. It'd
be ridiculous to play a bloodless and fatality-less version of Mortal Kombat!
Of course, that's just my opinion.
