Ok. Everyone's familiar with what happens when you beat the old guy. You
know, you go into your victory pose while he shakes off all of the
characters. Well, I was playing as Scorpion and the old guy was a
couple of Teleport Punches/Harpoons away from being defeated. What my
play was going to be was to launch the harpoon, to snatch his butt
closer, throw him and deliver the teleport punch to finish him off.
Well, I harpooned; he came. Unfortunately with the f*cked-up controls
for the SNES, instead of throwing him; I began punching him. I then
figured, well if I can punch fast enough and do the move, I could
harpoon him again before he morphs into someone else. Rapidly punching
him, I failed to notice his energy bar. It had diminished before I
could execute the harpoon move. Here comes the glitch, instead of
going into my victory pose; I was still able to punch him. So, while
he was "shaking" off all the characters; I was punching the crap out of
him. I don't think I was hitting him, but since I was so close to him;
it gave the appearance. I did go into my victory pose when he shook off
the last character (Johnny Cage<?>). It was COOL! I didn't want to
stop punching, but I wanted to harpoon him to see if I was actually
hitting him. For some reason, I couldn't. Anyway, it was fun.
BTW, did anyone notice that Reptile's clothing is GREEN<Duh?!>. I MEAN: He
possesses the powers of Scorpion and Sub-Zero. I.E. --> Yellow and Blue
makes Green. Did you all notice that in the pit, you DON'T have the
multi-scrolling backgrounds!! BUMMER!! Did you also notice that in the
stage where the old guy, in the background, is sitting in the chair
observing the fight, his head is always position/directed at the fighters.
I am talking about the scene where once you win, he claps his hands, not
the scene with the bald-headed people. I just noticed it last night.
Don't know how he caught my eye. It was great when my player and the
computer moved from one side of the screen to the other, so to did the old
man's head. Way to go Acclaim!

Rodney F. Clay
