How's this for a rather silly idea...Since I live near Denver, and the coming of you-know-who has been all the rage in the media, some friends and I got to thinking about a new character for MK...POPE!! Yes, the Pope, fed up with his nice-guy image, decides to enter the tourney and show everyone how it's done...Of course, no MK character is complete without his/her special moves, such as the "Hat Toss" for a ranged weapon, where His Holiness removes his large, silly hat and spears his opponent. Or how about one where he kneels to kiss the ground and slides across the screen, a la Sub-Zero? And of course, no one would think of denying the pontiff his kill, where, for those of you who have seen Bill Plympton's "25 ways to quit smoking", the Popecalls forth Divine Intervention and, amidst an angelic choir singing in the background, a large hand reaches down from heaven and majestically squashes the poor sod's head in. How many of you can imagine the voice saying, "Pope wins...Fatality!" Pathetically stupid? Who knows, if anyone ever makes Mortal Kombat II... Maybe you just had to be there.
