1. Is there any way to load TT Deluxe completely on the hard drive, so that
I don't have to use the cd-rom?
2. Is there any way to get TT Deluxe to start before 1950?
3. Are there any decent TT editors available?

yes. Copy the files from the CD to the drive. (tip - you don't need
the install dirs or the wierd scenarios) and then edit the tycoon.bat
file, and change the path in there to point to where you copied them.
So, for example, if put your CD files in a dir called CD off of your
tycoon directory, then the line will read :-

TTDX .\CD\

Instead of

TTDX F:\

(my CD is drive F)

nope, not that i know of.

>3. Are there any decent TT editors available?

Well.... there's the built in scenario editor, but other than that, i
dunno.

Actually, on the CD of TTD is a directory which contains the full game
to be run totally from the hard drive instead of any use of the CD at
all.

All you have to do is create a directory on your hard drive for TTD and
change to it, change to the directory on the CD, and copy (do NOT use
XCOPY) from the CD to the hard drive. Run the setup program and that is
it - run directly from the hard drive in the future. You need to either
change to the hard drive directory yourself when you want to play or
generate a batch file to do that.

Actually, if you go to:

	http://members.tripod.com/~mr_steven/program.htm

and download Sniper, it has modifers for MANY older games, including TTD
(in some cases, the modify is of saved games and some times it is of the
original program.)

What Sniper does, in the case of TTD, is modify the EXE of the game,
eliminating the loan you normally start with in each game, as well as
give you tons of money. If you compare the original EXE you have from
the CD with the modified version of the EXE, you can find which
addresses in TTD the values are found and can change the values to
anything you would like each of your games to start with, money wise.

This is the only trainer or modifier program that I have found that
gives you this capability. You can NOT change the financial values in a
saved game and have it work when you reload the game - the program
apparently does a CRC or similar check and will fail to play the
modified saved game. So the only way is the way Sniper does it -
physically change the values in the EXE itself.
