Also, if the game doesn't load on my system >(unpatched) then it could be iffy. Sign cheats are easily detectable by "Cht: Used", and the rest leave clues, but no real proof (if done properly...) Ever since I wrote this patch I was wondering how this would affect competitions, whether it would be abused to cheat in them. Personally I've never participated in one (just not enough time), so I can't really tell. But I was thinking of somehow restricting TTDPatch in competitions, maybe such that the host would prepare a scenario and then mark it with a special TTDPatch option, and allow only certain switches (if any at all). This way, the scenario would still be loadable in the original version, but would fail with TTDPatch if any additional switches are used. For example, you could allow pre-signals and extended stations, but none of the rest. My only problem is that if any switches are allowed, this would probably force people to use the patch, in order to keep up with the competition. So, I'd like to hear everybody's opinion on what to do about this. Is the above a viable solution, or is there something better? (note- I'm not reading this group very frequently (I'm only Deja-Newsing it), so it might take a while to get a reply unless you email too. But eventually you will, I promise!)
