Hi!

I ran a session of TTD for a couple of days without touching it, so no
transport network, no trains, no trucks. However, when the system started
each new company, I bought 75% and by the end of the game I was worth
hundreds and hundreds of thousands of millions of dollars. But, because I
didn't have a transport network, I was dead last at the end even though my
dollar value was enourmous!?!

So, if he system companies paid a dividend like you suggested, then your
player would actually have some money and income instead of paper value
regardless of transport network!?!

Cheers

But the AIs could decide not to issue dividends if (when) they made
losses....

It'd be almost be like a tax, seeing as once you're established, you can buy
controlling stakes in new companies early on with hardly a blip in your own
finances

What?! Are saying we should just take away money from those poor,
hard-working AI's? You are just ruthless!

Hi Guys/Gals,

Just a quick idea. If you have purchased a percentage of a company,
shouldn't your company receive some sort of dividend at the end of each fin.
year? I know, probably impossible to implement, but still would be nice.
