Yeah I agree with this comment, the entire game is excellent but the
last section of the game after you`ve grown back to your normal size is
a bit of a letdown. LeChuck though, wasn't killed off for good so there
is a possibility of a MI4 but the question is how can they bring him
back to life for the fourth time!

I don't think there is anything wrong with the end as such. Just that
the game ends and you now have to wait until LucasArts makes MI4. That
is what really sucks ;)

Hi!

M opinion is, that LArts have save some bytes to save the costs of a third
CD. So it looks, like the end is cutted!
But also I must say, this end cries directly for the fourth MI, or?
So I hope.....and in my behalf it can go so on like the Sierra
Adventures.....

So long......  --> Rage <--

I had a quick peek at the help book for CoMI in a shop recently.

It says that there was supposed to be a song at the end of the game,
sung by the entire cast, but there wasn't enough time to record it or
include it in the finished game. The book then lists the lyrics.

I wonder if the reason this was mentioned in the guide was because the
programmers were cheesed off at having to release an incomplete game so
they could make a deadline?

Either way, it annoys the fancy-pants offa me.

I have read that guidebook - as well as the love song between Guybrush
and Elaine, there was a cut-scene that was left out of the final
version - something to do with Elaine saving Guybrush whilst he was on
the rollercoater.
I don't think that MI should continue like Sierra, as the quality will
slowly slip - I am not questioning LA's storytelling skill here,
they're the finest adventure game developers in the world - but any
series has to reach a high point and from then on it's downhill.
Perhaps just one more wouldn't hurt, though - Largo could return and
thaw out LeChuck on Monkey Island or something.
Now that they made Grim, though, they'll have to do MI 4 in '3D' and
that may ruin the original 'flavour' of the game. The cartoony style
might not work...

When you look at it, chatacter development and such, graphic style, sounds
and all the rest, Monkey Island has reached its highest standard within its
current style (2D adventure, caracture graphics). It's like
Si...@Ireid.demon.co.uk says;if they made another, theyd have to move the MI
series to a GF style of things, and it just wouldn't work. And yet another
"Elaine's been kidnapped" plot...the poor buggers are married now, leave
them be.

It's like the old stage axiom says, "always leave them calling for more". We
should remember the MI series for finishing on such a high note as CoMI (a
real classic, already) instead of looking back and saying "Well it was good,
but it trailed off towards the end". Which it invariably would. Even LA have
their limits.

They'll go and make another one now, won't they. Ha!

You're right, my apologies. But in fact, I think he posted his real e-mail
address in his message when he wrote to the group - that's where I got it,.
I wouldn't have deliberately removed a SPAM block.

But you're right - I should've thought about that. Sorry, Simon.

They could do it the King's Quest way!
Their son/daughter (maybe even both) could be facing LeChuck's
son/daughter/cousin/twin/whatever..

Ahh :-) I thought that the original poster might have not implemented a
SPAM block . . .whenever someone does that I make sur to put a couple of
XX's in in somewhere just to make sure they don't have any more mail than
they should and then mail them with instructions on how to insert anti-
spam devices :-)

No apology even neccessary m8. It was the original posters fault (if were
being honest <g>)

:-)

Not too mention that SPAM BOT's are now removing automatically the "spam
blocks" that are most common.

I had a feeling they'd start doing that at some point - and that's where the
law should kick in. It really is getting to the point of absurdity when an
individual has to take such measures of self-defence against *advertising*
for heaven's sake.

I think that they should create a new MI game although with a new main
character instead of Guybrush. Some new guy searching for the secret of
monkey island or maybe starring Wally or even Le Chuck as the main
character. Anyone got any thoughts on this???

I don't know. I don't like Wally particularly. I would like to see another MI
game, but I'd prefer it to be 2D. Every genre is being converted to 3D right
now. Grim Fandango is great, sure, but it's getting really boring to play
games that way. I think there are plenty of plots possible that wouldn't be
boring. Particularly if Ron Gilbert (isn't that his name) gets the rights to
the series back, I am sure that the result would be excellent.

By the way, are there any fan-sequels out there? I heard that there are a
couple planned for Indiana Jones.

There were some LucasArts game spin-offs in production a while back, but I
expect the authors have given up by now. The most memorable for me was one
called Donkey Island, and it sounded good - I downloaded a little demo on
the site and it didn't work, so I gave up. I can't remember the URL now :(

However, you're right about the Indiana Jones games. There is a new Indiana
Jones game programmed in JAVA available at
http://www.geocities.com/SiliconValley/Foothills/8436/ - it's not exactly
difficult to complete, but it's good for the novelty value (plus it runs in
your browser). Apparently, it's also a scripting utility, meaning you can
create your own games on it. I couldn't be bothered, but maybe you could. If
you do create anything, let us know :)

I got that Indiana Java game a few days ago, and I think it's great fun. I
suck at programming, so I'll just keep my hands off that.
