Monkey Island is a pretty neat series. The 3D version isn't as much fun as the old ones, but it is a change. Perhaps they can turn Monkey Island into a multi-player action game or something. One thing's for sure - Monkey Island will remain a popular download on all those abandonware sites.

I don't think that's gonna work. At best as a 2 player flash game. A MMORPG might. Tons of islands and missions. Band together as pirates in search of treasure. But I don't think anyone is willing to put that together. You'd need enough puzzles to keep a potential one million users happy and stay true to the original. Not to mention the humour that needs to be put in there. -- Danny.

Some of the jokes could be provided by the users talking amongst themselves. Actually, most if not all of the witty dialogue would be user based. But the scenery needs a lot of jokes too. Signs, paintings, gravestones, you name it. They all need to funny. It would seem impossible. But then again, if you weren't about resurrecting MI, but making a comedy pirate MMORPG (and why wouldn't there be a market for that), why not call it MI? If LA would allow it. -- Danny.

Hold on, don't forget Sam & Max. Although they were licensed to LA. But LA has hired other firms lately to make software for them. Instead of 100% in house production like they used to. If someone were to go to them with a business model and good game idea they might work out a deal. Chances of someone actually going to LA with anything like that are slim. The franchises have been lying in the dust for too long. -- Danny.

The franchises have been lying in the dust for too long. Sam & Max is different because Steve Purcell has always owned the rights to it. Ron Gilbert never had any equivalent rights to MI. You're right that they could outsource it, but they're probably following the same "vision" (make more Star Wars games, cause that's surely what the people want!) with all their games, outsourced or not. -- Daffy Now it's your turn. I thought he was a fixed age. Nah, the Tin Tin magazine had a slogan saying 'for youngsters from 7 to 77' or something to that effect. The 'real' Tin Tin was of course ageless. And connected to some really bad right wing extremist catholics when the comics started. -- Danny.
