Want to play originals

I've tried the shops and the like. My copy of the original Monkey Island has
broken, and I've never played Monkey Island II. Anyone got any tips on where
to get copies of these?

I really would like to get these games, and I don't expect anybody on this
newsgroup to just upload their copies without question. But if anyone can
help me, please do. I really want to play MI 2 - everyone seems to rate it
so well and I've never seen it. Arghh.

I would upload it, but for 3 reasons I won't:

1)It's illegal, even though you can't buy it
2)It is around 7/8Mb large
3)This is NOT a BINARIES newsgroup

I might be persuaded to mail you a copy, but can your mailbox take that sort
of size? Don't think I can split it.....

If you are in the UK, you can get MI1 and 2 on a Virgin White label for
about a fiver. I have mine like this and enjoy playing them :)

See if you can get hold of them (I got mine at PCWorld)

You can get a replacement copy of Monkey Island 1 by sending your original
disks back to LucasArts (as proof of purchase) and the small amount of money
detailed in the manual.

Alternatively, you can buy it all over again at http://www.cdshareware.com
(for $15, and they do accept overseas orders).

Sorry, but I don't know where you can get Monkey Island 2 on its own.
However, many shops still stock the compilation pack featuring Monkey Island
1 + 2 (try PC World).

You can buy most of LucasGames from www.lucasarts.com. I just call them
once in a while and get a catalog.

I got my copies from a small computer software shop in Chorley Lancashire,
don't know the name of the shop, but there's only one, -- I think!. these
were on the White label.

I got mine from there aswell. I'd hardly call 10 for Monkey Island 1 and 2
on cd-rom extortionate. They kick the ass of most modern adventure games.

If you live in the UK look for them on White Label.

Yeah, but you can use their free ISP - just so long as you don't BUY from
them. Good idea :)

Why are most of the population of this newsgroup Freeserve users, anyway? Is
this one of the first news servers in the world to carry this newsgroup?

Not true i'm afraid - Dixons plc. only fronts Freeserve. The ISP is
solely run by Planet On-line - Energis (a telco) own Freeserve.
