Hurray for the Usenet not being cool and hip like twitter. This old and 
obsolete technology that *doesn't* tie you down to 140 characters max 
nicely flies below the radar. At least if you don't count the binaries.

this stuff on the usenets." Hmmm, that has a ring of the "famous last 
words".

Want absurd? How about a company where you could only get a new pen if 
you returned your empty pen and filled out a form in triplicate. With 
the empty pen. Very catch 22-y. If you could fill out the form, you 
didn't need the pen, if you couldn't fill it out, you weren't eligible 
to get a new pen. People who work in an environment like that tend to 
wake up as a cockroach one day.
