Strangely, if kids these days get the tests of one or two generations ago, they do tend to get higher grades. At least on the stuff that stayed the same. Claims students these days are dumber seem unfounded. However there does seem to be a increasing tendency to study to the test. Try and figure out what's on the test, study that, forget the rest. Another weird thing about studies in the Netherlands. Send them to a college and have them specialize in one subject, then force them to choose courses outside their subject they're likely to never use again.
