I've played point and click adventures with both and the gamepads (the snes-ish ones) are definitely better. Probably the best are the ones that resemble playstation-controllers. Gamepads with all the buttons plus two analogue mini-joysticks. Then you can decide on a game by game basis what you like best. Most importantly: whatever you buy, go for an USB. A new PC probably doesn't even have the old fashioned game port anymore. If you'd like to go on the wild side and you have your old Amiga/Atari/C64 joystick you can get kits on the internet to convert those to USB-joysticks or get conversion cables. There probably are kits for Nintendo, Sega or other controllers too. -- Danny.
