This was pretty easy for me to do. You can run out of the final room before the doors close if you time it correctly. Once out you can open the doors without being locked in again. Monster will walk up to the door but not past it. Killed him with a pistol by shooting at him from the side. Helps to shoot his feet I think. The best way to do this trick is to back into the room with steroids on. Then when the doors start to close run out.

Actually, don't go into the room backward. Walk forward slowly and look at the floor carefully. As you get near to the place where the room widens, you should see a fine line on the floor. Once you cross that line, the door begins to close. So stand in front of the line, turn around and face the room entrance, talk a big step backward, then do the Ben Johnson thing (use steroid and run). Another way to kill the boss relatively easily is to put a bunch of pipe bombs on the floor, plant a holo duke nearby, lure the boss out, duck behind the stage, and set off the bombs. This should do a lot of damage to the boss, and I suspect if you have enough pipe bombs, you can kill him in one huge blast.

I used dnstuff and placed around 50 pipe bombs in one area. I lured the boss over and detonated them as he passed over them. Big explosion, not all that much damage for the time it took. At the time I wasn't discouraged so I restarted and tried again. I found an interesting phenomenon with how the game deals with a lot of pipe bombs. After I placed about 100 of them my frame rate slowed significantly. With just under 150 on the ground, the game would not even register keyboard or joystick input for additional bombs. I have a Pentium, but the frame rate was like .25 fps. When I tried luring the boss over, it was almost impossible to guess where he was between frames, much less get the game to register my input. It crashed the game a couple of times, and when it didn't, I usually found myself looking at the world sideways.
