i downloaded a dos-mouse driver wich is loading in the boot process, but dn3d still thinks that there is no
mouse.

There's no reason why mouse support shouldn't be working in any Dos
application, especially if Windows 98 is loaded. Have you set the
controller in the Setup application to Keyboard and Mouse? Also, does the
mouse work in other Dos applications?

silly me... i set it to keyboard only.

but there's another problem yet... the mouse x axis turns duke from left to right, thats okay. but i can't
make the mouse y-axis making duke to look up and down... is this somehow possible?
if i set mouse y-axis to digital lookup/lookdown... that's not what i want.

thanks!

Press 'U' to toggle mouse-look. Duke3D was written in the pre-Quake days,
where the interface is not yet fully developed.

You might want to get the 1.4/1.5 patch (commercial expansion - not
downloadable), as it makes inverting the y-axis much easier.

I'm running JonoF's port, and this is actually a pretty easy (but tough
to think of/find) solution.

Just go into Options > Mouse Setup > Advanced

Then just set your digital mouse input to:

Up - Aim up, not look up
Down - Aim down, not look down
Left - Turn Left
Right - Turn Right

Tada.

Look != Aim.
