Hey fellow Dukers, I notice that there were these patches/expansions released for Duke Nukem 3D and was wondering what they add to the game? I run my Duke Nukem 3D with JonoF's awesome Windows Port program, yet apparently it is just the original edition. Were these expansions freeware where you can download them off the WWW? If so, where can I find these? Thanks. Cory -- Cory "Shinnokxz" Hansen http://coryhansen.com

As I recall the Plutonium Pak was an upgrade to the origional Duke Nukem 3D which added new fourth episode The Birth. The Atomic version was everything on one CD. You only need DUKE3D.GRP file for the JonoF port. The game (Atomic) is still for sale and not freeware but I am sure it is available on peer-to-peer networks or eBay. -Kent

The bridge between 1.3d and 1.4 would be the Plutonium Pak, which is only available as a commercial addon. Alternativly, you can purchase the atomic edition, which contains the Plutonium Pak and 1.5 patch. >Were these expansions freeware where you can download them off the WWW? >If so, where can I find these? As much as I'd like it to be (even if it were the 1.5 patch without the expansion), they aren't available legally.

Hey, Thanks for the replies fellas. One last query: I was able to get the Atomic Edition ver 1.4, and f it is to my understanding, I have all the features of the Plutonium Pak with this. Now, with this in mind, is upgrading to 1.5 via the patch on 3DRealms site worth it? What does it do to the game? Thanks. Cory -- Cory "Shinnokxz" Hansen http://coryhansen.com

Most players around use the patch anyway, and most mods generally require 1.5 as a base version.

What you should do is download the 1.5 patch program from 3D Realms and use THAT program to install the Plutonium Pack CD. In other words, DON'T use the installer on the Plutonium Pack CD at all. If you bought the Atomic version of Duke, then you already have version 1.5 (it will say which version you have in the startup screen.) -- Nut
