I've tried the new jonoF port & had so many problems with poor sound & controller issues that I reverted back to the older version. The older version works great except, how do you load custom maps? I've tried opening the console with the tilde key and using "Map <mapname>", but that doesn't work. What's the secret? I went to his web site but couldn't find the answer.

You've reverted to the DOS version? Or an earlier version of JonoF's port? If you're still using JonoF's port you can load custom maps by selecting 'User Map' from the episode select screen (it should be at the bottom). It'll list all the maps in your Duke directory and allow you to change directories by pressing tab, etc. You can load them up that way. Hope this helps. - Repository Bloke http://www.bur.st/~duke3d

However, you might want to take a look at DukeRoch: http://www.bur.st/~duke3d/utilities.htm#launch ... which is an excellent front-loader for the game. It's what I use and it's nicely compatible with JonoF's port. - Repository Bloke http://www.bur.st/~duke3d

I had to re-install & edit the regsistry before Duke would run. The instructions that came with DukeRoch were very sparse. I'm sure I did something wrong, but I'm going to give up on it. Maybe I can try jonoF's web site again for tips on loading user maps.
