Hi, this is a question for Duke 3D if anyone is still out there. I was wondering what difficulty the Par and 3D Realm's times (at the end of the level) were completed on. I am wondering this because 2-3 Warp Factor is friggin' impossible to get the 3D Realms time on Come Get Some difficulty. I got 20 s over the time on what I thought was a near perfect run. When I turned on the God mode I just met the time. However, when I played on Piece of Cake I got 10 s below the time. I have beaten the 3D Realms for various other levels, including all the ones before 2-3. Just wondering if someone could help :)

This is just like Doom - a par time is given but no information on how it was determined. As always, it assums you have prior-knowledge of the map, something that is not realistic for your first-time around (even if you are an experienced player.) 3D Realms time are definatly speed runs taking the shortest route possible. While I have heard these values being matched or beaten, they usually take tons of tries before they even get close. I have doubts about speed runs done by developers - generally games don't have that much time in development to do anything that fancy.

Just keep trying it over and over, you'll eventually get the fastest routes and shortcuts memorized. I can do Hollywood Hollocaust in less than 20 seconds.

Some one did it in 12 to 13 seconds. 13 second demo: http://pages.quicksilver.net.nz/sgriffiths/dukedemos/demo1.dmo 12 second demo: http://pages.quicksilver.net.nz/sgriffiths/dukedemos/newdemos/E1L1.dmo Both need JonoF's port :)
