I can only run Duke Nukem at 320X400 I have ran the full tests un
unvbe5.1 and here are the failed portions of the test.
My ATI MACH64 card test indicate that "Loaded Vesa Bios supports 640X480

Apparently the Vesa VBE routines in your ATI card do not work correctly,
they fail to restore one of the CPU's registers BX after use. This sounds
like a software bug in your ATI card's BIOS. The best thing to do is to
contact ATI (have your ATI BIOS version number handy) and ask them.

I had e-mail from the company that made univbe5.1 that there is a bug
that prevents it from working with ATI cards A fix is supposed to be out
in April.

The problem is the ATI Mach 64. It won't work with Univbe. Use the
m64vbe.com (or whatever it's called) that came with your video card.
Or visit http://www.atitech.ca

Hey, you're getting a lot farther than me. I'm using a Diamond Stealth 64
PCI 2 MB DRAM board, and whenever I try to run uvconfig my system crashes.
And it crashes HARD; a simple reset doesn't work, I have to turn the PC
off/on again to reboot.

Fortunately, my bios will run Duke in 640x480 just fine. But I want to
run Quake in the high-res modes as well, but I can't get it to work. I
also can't run 11th Hour from DOS without everything being "blue-scale";
oddly, it works just fine in Win95.

So 640x480 is no more "high-res" eh ?
Damn, I'd be glad if I'd be getting 30 fps during modem play
at 320x200.

Quake needs VESA 2.0 compliant videocard in order to access high res
(640x400, 640x480) modes. Without it you only have standard VGA X unchained
modes. BTW Univbe 5.1 doesn't support VESA 2.0. Is Univbe 5.2 out.

Yes it does, that was the whole point of it. Well, the SHAREWARE version
only does 2.0 for about 21 days, so that could be you problem.
