Level 5 help?

I'm pretty stuck on Level 5.  I'm in that section with flames coming around
and panels with handprints on them.  I hear al ot of monsters in the 
background but haven't encountered anything major yet.  Tried jumping 
into the flame teleport and saw all the shrink ray stuff.  What now?
