It was clearly optimized for 14" monitors, so I needed to put it in a window for the graphics to resemble anything the original creators intended. No doubt it was a great game in its heyday. Part of the addictive appeal was being able to play over the net (via TEN at the time), which was a first for me. I had played Doom over the modem with friends, but did not have get my introduction to a server-lobby type of scenario until TEN came along. That service also let me play Warcraft I online, which was another groundbreaking game IMO.
