Michael,

I'm an old time Duke 3D player forced to find a new multiplayer for our
network games at work due to network protocol changes and windows XP. We
tried Quake and Quake II for a year or so. They were ok, but we did not
enjoy them as much as the duke death matches. The action seemed slower. We
picked up a used copy of Unreal Tournament recently (8 bucks) and it is a
pretty darn good game. Plenty of options and great multiplayer games.

Give it a try. The machine requirements for the Unreal Tournament (circa
1999/2000) are fairly low. If you like it, you can move up to the more
recent Unreal Tournament editions.

I have tried Halo. I didn't trip my trigger. It seemed so slow and
nonresponsive as compared to Duke and Unreal. However, there are those who
love it and would have nothing else. That being said, maybe I need to give
it another try.

Good luck!
