HELP - Map not found error???

I've been trying to play extra maps but I keep getting an error message (Map
whatever.map not found!) after it looks like it's loading just fine.

I haven't played for a few years but I thought all I had to do was go into
dos, go to the duke3d folder and type "duke3d -map whatever.map" in the
command prompt.

Was there some other way to load maps?

Also, is there one really good site to get more maps and other stuff? I've
found a few through google that always end up going to one site that makes
you wait a couple hours just for one little file.

Thanks in advance.
