I'm glad to see that people are trying to help seriously, thanks for
that.

Actually, the crashes occur while playing after some seconds, no
matter...
- which location
- which level
- which episode
- if in DOSonly or in a WinShell
- which setup-options I choose (even NO sounds and lowest resolution)
- if I slow the PC down in BIOS

The soundcard is of the same type like on the old machine, a cheap
SB-compatible. All drivers are installed in DOS-Mode. I even copied and
installed Duke in DOS, because EDITART does not work if you don't.
Everything else runs perfectly on this new PC.
The crash looks like this: game freezes, big letters overwrite the
actual scene with many numbers in it and the words "code page granular"
repeatedely. The DukeHelpfile says: "granular" means processors too
fast. But I don't believe this because many friends of mine have new PCs
and they say: Duke runs better than ever.
Now I really do hope there are some PC-pros out there who can help me.
Building Dukelevels is a great hobby of mine and losing it would really
make me do stupid things (like building unreal-levels instead!!)
And before you ridicule this: you could be next!
