There are lots of them. The most complete list of 3D games I've seen is
at http://www.3dgamers.com/ If you click on 3D Action, you can scroll
down to the bottom of the page and sort them by date which is more
useful in determining what the game is going to look like (i.e. Duke 3D
or Half-Life). Some of the best ones and their settings are:

Older games

Doom and its sequels--alien planet
System Shock--space station
Rise of the Triad--Nazis
Heretic and Hexen--Medieval fantasy
Dark Forces--Star Wars
Blood--land of the dead
Redneck Rampage--southern hillbillies
Outlaws--western
Shadow Warrior--ninja

Newer games

Jedi Knight--Star Wars
Hexen 2--Medieval fantasy
Unreal--alien planet
Thief--Medieval fantasy
Outcast--alien planet
System Shock 2--space station

If you want to try a different perspective, there are a few 3rd person
games which are similar to these. MDK and Heretic 2 are the best in my
opinion.
