I just got back from saving the world from aliens, when I overheard
Allen (ARR28) remarking on Nov 10...

>>>The 8th level you mention is not part of the regular game. I have seen
>this level, I got it as a user made level, not one made by 3D Realms.
>(Off hand I don't remember the name of this level).<<
>
>In a further review, I ran the KEXTRACT utility on the DUKE3D.GRP file
>and did get this level. I've never found any way to get to this .MAP
>before as the DNSCOTTY cheat does not work on my system for this or the
>Faces of Death level. As I said though, someone had posted it on a site,
>some time ago, as a user made .MAP.
Allen, I doubt you have the Atomic edition since E1L8 is a user level,
meaning it is whatever you want it to be. I don't know which map is
referred to.

Nut posted this here some time ago. Hope this is the last word...
