Duke3d is the game that told me my machine is outdated.  It's a 3.5 year old
50 meg 486.  Oh well, I've been looking for an excuse to a) have a home
network; b) have a linux box permanantly connected to the net; and c) buy
a new machine.

I'm halfway through level 3, once I get past the laser beams the game is
unplayable.  It's too jerky, and the baddies get me as I bounce from 10
degrees to their left and 20 degrees to their right.  Yes, I've dropped
the sound quality.  And the video quality.  And the screen size.

I need a new machine, donations are gladly accepted.  Yep, you can send
me money.  Lots is good, but I'll accept your coin collection (but *not*
COD!)  Hint:  I have yet to see one of those new $100 bills.  I figure if
Steve Forbes can dun me for a campaign contribution I can dun a bunch of
college students half my age for a new toy.
