Could you pass this along, I can't Ben's address to work and my
newsreader
is crapped out.

Anyway, I'm using a USR Sportster 14.4k too and had alot of problems
getting
linked up with a friend with a ZOOM v34 28.8k.
After alot of fiddling we came up with the following modem.cfg file and
it
works great:

AT &F &B1 &M0 &H0 &I0 &K0
ATZ H0
115200
USR SPORTSTER 14.4 v32 Fax

The Sportster has an onboard 16550 UART chip allowing the 115200
throughput
rate. If you link partner doesn't have a 16550, use 57600 instead.
Remember
both of you must have that number the same for it to work.
All of the _0_ are zeroes not letters. Must be either all caps or all
lower
case. For some odd reason a mixture doesn't work, although it should.
Hope this helps. FRAG ON!!
You can post this to alt.games.computer.doom.help if you like.
