DOOM and Trackman

I'm running DOOM on my new 486 with a Logitech Trackman
and when playing DOOM the trackball works great for the
first 10-15 minutes then locks up. By pressing any of the
keys the trackball will start working again. BUT eventually
after two or three trackball lock-ups the game stops responding
at all to the keyboard (can't save ,escape, nothin'). I can
play the game fine if I don't use the trackball, but the trackball
is great for this kind of game.

Anybody got any ideas???

Thanks
George

Yup... Junk your TrackMan and buy a *real* pointing device. I had a
LogiTech PD once, and eventually junked it for two reasons:
(1) LogiTech's clunky hardware, and (2) LogiTech's unspeakably awful
software and drivers.

Incidentally, I'm using a Mouse Systems optical PC Mouse III right now,
and it works just great, except for the felt strips on the bottom which
gum up and get sticky. Peel'em off and it's fine. The pad could do with
being a little bigger, too, but I just bought a second pad and joined
them together. (Very carefully.)
