I downloaded and installed the duct tape mod, but it doesn't work. Anyone
know how to do this properly so it will work? Thanks.

it seems that, in order to get them to work, don't follow their instructions
in their READMEs quite the way they say:

add the mod to the \base folder, as usual, but first rename it so its .pk4
file is one higher than the highest one already there. it needs to be "the
last one in line," or else it won't load right.

ie: if 005 is the highest one you find already there, rename the mod to 006.

It's better to rename "whaterveritis".pk4 to z"whateveritis".pk4 to
avoid conflicts with possible later releases from id. Any mod file that
is named pak00*.pk4 is just foolish. Those file names are too commonly
used for official releases.
