I'm stuck in level 5 of the first DOOM episode (the shareware version).
I'm in that round room that has two pillars that rise up when you walk on
the green acid near them. The room has a bunch of trap doors that when you
walk past a certain point, all the demons are unleashed behind you, etc.

Now, I've got the chainsaw & radiation suit (um, what's the use of that?)
from the secret door, and I've pounded on every wall with the spacebar and
shotgun and I can't find any other secret doors. But I can't get out of
the room. The door that let me in (a yellow keycard door -- i have the key)
has an elevator that only goes halfway up. I can't get over the ledge to
the door. It looks like a 4 foot climb. Sheesh. How do I leave?

Frustrated,
Richard
(p.s. I'm playing Ultra-violence if that makes a difference. I'll have to get
 v. 1.2 for NIGHTMARE level, sounds great!)

It's a bug. The elevator is supposed to get to the top so you can open the
door. Try idspispopd and forget about it -- next time you reach that level
it will probably work fine.
