Then just play it. i don't know if this applies to all network cards, but all i needed to do is load ipx for my card. i have an intel etherexpress and the ipx was auto-configuring so i didn't need to even set switches. the bottom line is that i had two machines, both with these type ethernet cards and all i loaded for network action was ipx. of course, this wasn't a fully running network, but it was enough for doom net play... phil

Is IPX something that comes with the cards, something that is obtainable from and FTP site, or something you get when you purchase a network program like Novell or Lantastic or Vines? -- Paul Robinson - pa...@tdr.com / tda...@MCIMail.com / tda...@access.digex.net Voted "Largest Polluter of the (IETF) list" by Randy Bush <ra...@psg.com> Voted "Largest Polluter of digex.general" by Mike <vo...@orange.digex.net>

I am running Doom on NWlite, but don't load the network ems or xms
drivers NLCASHEX.EXE and NLCASHEM.EXE. Doom will not run with these loaded.
I also had a problem running doom net because my cmos bus speed was set to
fast. I have a 486 dx2 66 and the bus speed was set to clk/6 not clk/4. Once
I changed it to clk/4 it worked fine.
