Walt,
You might want to check your email address. My mail to you bounced
(your .forward address is probably invalid):

While connected to cns.cscns.com [192.156.196.1] (ether):

Anyway, this may be of interest to others who are having trouble getting
some games going.

I've had a couple of problems getting Blake Stone to work. Blake stone
requires dos 5.0 or better. I have DRDOS 6.0, which reports itself as
dos 3.3, so even though I had lots of RAM available, it wouldn't start.

To get it to work, I created a DOS 5.0 boot disk. I use QEMM as a memory
manager, and the game works fine. I also load a mouse driver and a sound
driver for my PAS-16 card (I use soundblaster emulation mode).

I'd suggest you make a boot disk with nothing in the config.sys except
emm386 or himem, then try it. Gradually add things like your mouse driver,
etc until you have all that you want. Then you can change the config.sys
and maybe autoexec.bat files on your hard drive, and hopefully you won't
break something else.

hope this helps,

ciao,

Where did you get Blake Stone, I have heard of it and never seen it.
I would like to have or try out that game?
Does it require to run on 486 or doesn't matter?
Cuz I have 386sx/20mz and Doom was horrible on my machine and
guess it works better on 486 or higher.

Unless the registered version is alot better, Ithought Blake Stone sucked!
It makes Wolf 3-D look like....DOOM!
I wouldn't even bother, but hey, some people like to be tortured :).

ftp.uml.edu /msdos/Games/Apogee/1blake.zip

Works fairly smoothly on my 386sx-16, even in full screen mode, so you
should have no problem with it.

Where did you get that game? I still rather try it and see it for myself
before I think of the game. Thanks
Just mail me the ftp address if that where you got it.

Thanks
