knows where I can FTP the Doom music (if someone has extracted it), I would
appreciate the info. Of course, if no one's figured out the .wad file yet,
getting the music may be a problem unless you record it to a tape (yeech) and
then digitize it.

If you think it sounds great with an FM synth-style soundcard, check out
the same stuff using a .WAV-capable device. A friend just bought the
WAVblaster upgrade for his SB16 ASP and said the music sounds *incredible*
in comparison to FM synth.

The original guy never said he was listening to the music on an FM-synth
card. And for clarity, the Waveblaster is _not_ a .WAV device. It's a
MIDI capable device. Any soundcard with an 8-bit DAC (and even the PC
Speaker under Windows) is a .WAV-compatible device.... if all the music in
Doom was made with .WAVs, its size would be somewhat more gargantuan than
the current ~11MB.

I was listening to it on a SB compatible card. The digital sound didn't work,
but the music worked fine, and it sounded great. I wish I could've heard the
digital sound as well.
