This has started happening to me on about the 11th level or so.  No problems
on any of the earlier levels.  One thing I have noticed though is that if I
just get up and walk away from the computer for awhile, the game will start
responding.  It is like it is getting stuck trying to read something off of
the harddisk and the game is just freezing solid.  The first few times I
thought it was the hardware and I had to hit reset to reboot the machine.
Then one time I didn't do that and it came back after a minute or so and
started playing again.   I have experimented with it quite a bit this
weekend, and it always comes back if I just let it sit for a few minutes.  I
don't know if this is similar to your problems, but try it.  Just let it sit
for a few minutes after it freezes and see if it starts working again.
