Win95 runs on top of DOS. It's just that the DOS used is not one of the "old" versions (6.22, etc). You can boot up without going into Win95 if you place an empty file called win.bat in the root directory. Then to get into Win95, you type win.com at the prompt. If you did a version command at the DOS prompt, it comes back with version info saying that it is a Win95 version. - Alan
