Having had a chance to think, I guess what I am saying is this: If a level has few doors or similar that "lock" that is okay. Examples would be Doom2, MAP12 - the final hall with Cacodemons. You cant get out unless you have red key and there is none on this level. Doom2, MAP27 - the secret area that closes off after a certain length of time. But you dont want to over use this feature. If a level consists of nothing but this feature it becomes a veritable maze where you have to do things in the right order to guarantee the right access - a massive headache. S
