I've never had a cordless mouse, previously I had an MX500, and discovered that's just exactly what I want. Wasn't like the cord was always getting caught, but it happened enough. The Logitech software is really excellent now, you can customize all 10 buttons the MX1000 has (including the left/right scroll) depending on which application you're using. That actually takes a little registry tweaking to accomplish, easy enough. I bind the scroll left/right buttons to lean l/r for those games that have that feature. Smooth and precise, you can put it on anything with the laser, one's knee for example and it will work. So it works OK in Linux but only recognizes 3 out of the 10 buttons. -- Dudley Moore: "You're a bleeding nutcase!" Peter Cook: "Hah! They said that about Galileo."
