It's an LCD screen on a Dell Inspiron 9100 laptop. I cannot change the
refresh rate. It's set to 60Hz

The crafics card is an ATI Radeon 9700 with 128Mb RAM
The CPU are an Intel P4 3.0 GHz

I've got the power, but why does it freeze up so much.

I have found out that the freezing happens not only in those "Out of body"
times when recieving orders, but also when the firghting commence under Mars
City.
So it freezes up randomly I guess. I cannot see a pattern here.
I hvae made a new user in my Win XP Pro OS and disabled firewalls and
everything in the STARTUP flip in MSCONFIG.
I cannot see that there is an TSR program running which can cause this
behavior.
I have even disabled all connections to network and Internet.
I have also disconnected the web camera, and the external harddisk.
I have also disconnected all USB devices exept the mouse.
I have disabled my trusty Kerio firewall too.
And the Grisoft AVG viruskiller.

I can't think of what else should suddenly take up resorces which can freeze
the game.

I am flabbergasted.
