This really depends on your hardware settings and how much you push it Simon.

Thanks for caring simon, but you guess I tried a lot of settings before settling
with 1024x768. Going down to 800x600 would barely improve the framerate
at HQ. On the other hand, 1024x768 is visually much 'crisper'. 800x600 compared
to it, appears a bit washed-out. My guess is that textures are 'scaled' when 8u00x600
is used, and not for 1024x768.

 this Hardocp site says:
"Moving up to High or Ultra Quality settings makes the visual experience simply breathtaking. "

Thank you again Simon; Although I sound stubborn with 1024x768.
You are right it shoulde run faster at 800x600.. No idea why it's barely a few fps here.
Not worth it for me.

I just tried again.. Cuz I care when people are kind enough to offer tips. !
800x600x32 85.2Hz TriBuff, HQ, all candies AFx16 ... 37.1fps
1024x768x32 85.2Hz TriBuff, HQ, all candies AFx16.... 35.2fps.. (Visually much better)

Also understand that the lower the resolution, the more Aliazing defects become
apparent.

Thanks for the recommendations; but I've invested some time already
experimenting and reading tips and suggestions.. Even if I cant get up to 40+fps,
turning some quality or rez down.
I already feel really good (I should say Extatic) about the gameplay.

HQ along with 1024x768 AND Anisotropic Filtering (AF) makes a world of difference
in texture details. I suspect you checked 1024x768 only by upping the resolution.
Well, you really get the full idea when a nifty 16xAF Anisotropic Filtering is used along.
I personally enable it both ingame and in Catalyst 4.9.

Check these links about AF:

http://graphics.tomshardware.com/graphic/20030306/radeon9800pro-07.html

Oveall image quality improved also since I use the Humus pixel shader fix.
Humus version for ATI, make use of FLOATS in all calculations. This improves
the image quality as well... Not negligible.

I'm far enough in the game now to say I feel very good at 35FPS timedemo.
But I will keep your suggestion close, in case all hell turns loose. :)

Good gaming,
Nło
