Yea I bought the game because there are so very few good scary shooters out there. I also have a lot of respect for ID. Bottom line is just can it scare the beegees out of you. Did it ? lol We all know the answer if you played it through without ctrl/alt ~. I think part of it perhaps is the lack of good surround sound system or the ability to crank her up. Perhaps a good pair of surround sound headphones should be in your future. I say this because .... WOW ... Doom 3 rocks What other game has done it and with 3d 5.1 surround sound. It just makes me wonder what heck people are complaining about? Compare with Half-life ? What came first halflife or doom. Doom3 keeps to it's predecessor to the power of 10. It does a terrific job of staying on the storyline and it's creatures are same but better badder. Anyone else notice how it stays on course? I just hope Doom 3 sales rock so we can get Doom3 II. Even a comparison to halflife should make people jump for the opportunity to experience this scare per level % in a game. What is there to compare to? Nothing on Earth is what I say. Yes it does seem like a bit of halflife style using 3d sound and terror etc but on levels such as Hell ... whoa ... Hell is hell unlike fantasy ga ga land of halflife. No game has done it better than doom3. I'm a hard sell but Doom3 with surround 3d sound in a dark room.... alone.... heck ya ... doom3 does it for me. Please tell me of a game that does it close. Even close that this gamer hasn't played till the cd cover hasn't grown yellow with age and I'll be falling over myself trying to find it. Undying? (Yellow). Half-life ? (yellow) Halflife mods like they hunger (yep doom3 reminds me of they hunger on steroids but doom did it first and yep did it last better) Yea Undying rocked but no 3d sound. Halflife? ... Nothing else is is even close to graphics and horror. Truly let us celebrate. Yes let us celebrate and cry for more. Halflife2 ... Yea ... go for it ... if halflife 2 is even close to as good as D3... wow ... we are all gonna be some scared gamers. AI ? How much ai do you give to a braindead zombie. Best you can do is let them groan in your center speaker then have a good ol imp send chills down your spine with the rear. lol Who even has came close to doom3 yet? I'm very interested in what some would call better than Doom3. It's the best ever in horror shooter. Period. How will it compare in the days of pirates can't be measured in dollars because in truth Half-life2 no matter how good it is will be slaughtered by the pirate phenomena same as Doom3 has been since it went Gold. Doom3 rocks ... period. Best ever shooter horror game bar none.
