Rat In a Maze 3 feels just like that but a real maze is less linear than this game. It's cool though; The sense of Terror is very present and it works, until it gets repetitive with a feeling of helplessness.. Is that it ? All these years id software spend behind closed doors is showing up now. The screenshots I saw before lookes so good, I could not wait; I trusted id software for an imaginative gameplay, but it's barely a copy of Half-Life's original ideas with a doom flavor that went very wrong in the minds of their conceptors. Putting all the details in the corridors, plumbing and wires on the ground is not gonna make me praise them much. They could not even get the lighting right. People at id must be sniffing some cheap dope to think they have something here. Even on a 3Ghz P4HT 800Mhz FSB radeonPro9800 this is not playable above 1024x768. Even jerky at times. Maybe they should have seen how Epic did UnrealChampionship run opn an XBOX (P3-700Mhz lowly geforce3) with as many environment details and much, much, much, much better lighting ! I'm used to 1600x1200 for my games with blazing fast framerate; Not with Doom3... Doom3 is all about flashlight and smoking pipes. Maybe that's where the original Doom3 idea comes from; .... smoking pipe. And that flashlight swapping thing sucks. But the worst is really the claustrophobic corridors with dumb monsters. I think the AI settings are: r_monstersAI_attack ¸¸ON or OFF Oh, well..... I'll wait for a Mickael Jackson mod for the monsters. r_monstersAIattack "moonwalk grab fire balls" Iiiiiiiiiii... 8} RIM3 is a Waste of your money; and makes your hardware look bad. This review already posted is not very far from the truth. http://www.afrotechmods.com/groovy/review/d3review/doom3.htm
