I couldn't agree with you more...... As far being flamed by fanboys
goes, it's a pain....go to http://theisonews.com and check out the
RELOADED Doom 3 thread there....I've posted a lot of comments on that
thread.....while there are a few sane individuals that seem to be
capable of seeing past this humungous hype, most of those 12 year olds
are praising this game beyond belief, which is beyond my
comprehension. Strange how they won't tolerate any crticism
whatsoever.....one guy on that forum wanted to meet me in person to
beat me senseless.....I guess the hype worked for the punters and
there really is only a very small community of folks that is looking
at this game from a critical and objective perspective, but not
significant enough to be heard in a big way. Even all the major gaming
sites are giving it rave reviews (although Gamespot offered up a half
decent review). Actually, it just goes to show how easy these folks
are to satisfy....the actual gameplay is so abysmal and yet people are
hailing it as the PC gaming world saviour. So is this what gaming has
come to, presentation ? So will all games now be measured on their
graphical effects rather than content ?

For what's it's worth, I also hated Half Life....couldn't wait until
it was over.....but having said that, I'm hoping that the release of
HL2 will severly shake up the Doom 3 lambs as they blindly continue
to bleat out their joy.....
