A pure oxygen atmosphere is hazardous - fires burn much more quickly than
normally expected, giving less time to extinguish the flame. The non-toxic
impurities in the atmosphere should be there.  

(IIRC, there are other reasons why a pure-oxygen atmosphere isn't
recommended - I don't know the specifics, but appearently some places
require that you bring a doctor's recommendation saying it is safe to do
so.)
