This isn't level 6, it's actually level 9, the secret level.

There are only 4 barons, I believe, but that's enough!  Wait until you 
see the 15 or so cacodemons in the next room.

I was lucky enough to have over 300 energy cells for my plasma rifle.  
That was enough to take out the 4 barons of hell.  THEN you get to the 
next room where you have to deal with about 15 cacodemons at once.  I was 
able to pick them off two or three at a time at first, then the rest as a 
large wall coming at me.  Took every other piece of ammo I had other than 
shotgun shells.  Had to use the shotgun to finish them off (the automatic 
weapons work best against the cacodemons since they are kept from 
shooting at you while being hit at full auto).  You could run into the 
room WITH the cacodemons to pick up the weapons and soul-sphere that are 
in there.  That's about your only chance if you're really low on ammo and 
health.
