    You would be better off running it from DOS.  I have 4 megabytes of 
RAM, and have no trouble with it.  However, chances are, you are running 
a disk cache.  These can use up to a megabyte of memory.  You need to do 
a 'clean boot', i.e. don't load _anything_ except DOS.  No memory 
managers, no disk cache, no tsr's, nothing.  The only exception is a 
mouse driver if you wish to use one.  Go straight to Doom, and it will 
work fine.  Try it, I think you'll be pleasantly suprised.
