> As of now I have not seen anyone run Doom under Windows DOOM needs every ounce of CPU power it can get. It would *NEVER* be able to run properly under a resource hog such as Windoze. Besides, why would you WANT to run it under Windoze? Do you need an icon to click on? Is typing D-O-O-M <enter> too difficult? As you may have already guessed... I think Windoze is about as useful as a screen door in a submarine. ;-( > I beleave the reason is that Version 1.1 is not compatable with the Memory > managers that Windows uses, but the 1.2 version will compensate for that. I run DOOM with QEMM memory manager. It works just fine. I run it from an ordinary boot (i.e. mouse driver, ANSI.SYS, ramdrive, disk cache etc..) all loaded (loaded hi, no less). It works fine, AND it doesn't trash the machine. After playing DOOM, I can exit back to DOS and do anything else reliably. It's a VERY nice piece of programming. Roger -- Roger A.
