  Spend the extra money and get a better card.  I was running with 
  Allied Telesis cards (IMHO very good, unless you have a sound board)
  until I recently switched to Intel EtherExpress 16TP boards.  The 
  difference is unreal(really!). 

  But, if all you can afford is the NE2100 card/clone get it.  Life
  is too short not to NetDOOM!
