I've noticed a small problem when Doom runs on my friends 486DX266. When
the music is set to general MIDI in setup, and the game starts up, one
channel maintains a continuous tone throughout the game. Turning the
game volume down in options doesn't help, either (The rest of the
channels play fine-i.e. I can hear the actual music in the background). I
think it might have something to do with your sound initialization and
the sound card, because if I turn the music volume down to zero and restart
the game, once I turn the volume back up the music plays fine.

Anyone else have this problem, or is it just this one machine.

BTW, Doom is awesome, id. My friend's problem is only an inconvenience.
