I believe what you saw on CNN was not, in fact, the Jag port of DOOM, but
a game being released by Atari (not written by Atari, apologies go to the
un-credited) called Alien Vs. Predator. From what I understand, it allows
you to play as the alien, the predator, or a space marine. I've heard
it's better than Doom in some respects, worse in others. It should
certainly sell some Jags in any case.
P.S. I believe it uses 16 bit color. Not as nice as the 24 bit color
the Jag is capable of, but heck, on a normal T.V. who'd be able to notice.
Guess I'll just have to be satisfied with 65k colors at once.
