Util to load/unload background processes for Win95 games?

I apologize for the cross-posting of this. I can't find a good group for this that is well propagated. (I tried com.sys.ibm.pc.games first) I already have to reboot into MS-DOS mode or totally into MS-DOS mode for many DOS games in Win95. I'm running into a similar brick wall with native Win95 games. My resources are so stressed (either the Window heap or memory in general) that I have to unload quite a few processes before I can get decent performance out of Win95 games. In fact, Diablo runs my windows heap to about nothing and comes close to crashing. I already have 32 meg of RAM and use Hurricane (which interestingly enough does NOT do heap management in Win95). I've got quite a few things loading and only a small percentage of them have icons in the taskbar. I have to press CTRL-ALT-DEL to get the full list and mess with unloading each of these separately. And if I'm done playing games, I probably want those processes back anyway. It's easier to hold down shift and "restart the computer" than try to get my config back. I'm looking for a utility to unload selected processes on demand, and then reload them when I tell it to. For backups it would be nice also because then I wouldn't have files open that don't get backed up that these background processes keep open. If anybody can help me locate this utility if it exists, I would appreciate it. -- Matt Turley Computer/IS/LAN Analyst Carlinville National Bank, Carlinville, IL http://members.aol.com/turls
